Framingham Mosquito Spraying Coming Up This Week: Here's Where

The East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project will spray in parts of the city this week.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Mosquito spraying is coming to Framingham on Thursday this week, but will be done mainly in one part of the city.

The East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project plans to use a truck-mounted aerosol sprayer in South Framingham between sunset and 11 p.m. on Thursday.

Spraying is scheduled for Framingham areas located south of Waverly Street near Fay Road, Bethany Road, Winthrop Street, Hollis Street, Irving Street, Bates Road, Hickory Hill Lane and Jodie Road.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health announced that West Nile Virus was detected in Massachusetts mosquitoes for the first time in 2023. This was confirmed by the Massachusetts State Public Health Laboratory in a mosquito sample collected on July 6 in Brookline.
