Framingham Names New Dunning Elementary School Principal

Kathie Lasky will begin the role on July 1, replacing outgoing principal Michele Schecter.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham Public Schools have announced Kathie Lasky as the next principal at Dunning Elementary School.

Lasky is currently the Vice Principal at Dunning Elementary. She has been an educator for more than 25 years, school officials said.

In that time, Lasky has served in a variety of teaching and administrative roles. Prior to coming to Dunning, she held teaching positions from preschool through fifth grade in both a general education and special education capacity.

She also served as the Language Arts Coordinator at the AMIT Community Day School, and the Director of Circle of Friends Preschool.

Lasky graduated from Suffolk University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and earned a Master of Arts in Education from Lesley University. She also has a Master of Arts in Education in Organizational Management Leadership from the Educational Leadership Institute and Endicott College.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to become the next principal of Dunning Elementary," said Lasky.

"Since the first day I walked through the doors at Dunning, I have felt a special connection to the students, staff and families. I believe that what makes Dunning such a special place is the sense of community. I look forward to carrying forth the positive and inclusive culture set in place."

Lasky, who starts the jon on July 1, replaces Michele Schecter.

"The District is grateful to Principal Michele Schecter for her dedicated years of service to the Dunning community," said Superintendent Bob Tremblay, in a news release.
