Framingham, Natick Students Earn Jewish War Vets Scholarships

The Jewish War Veterans MetroWest Post 157 are giving out scholarships in 2020, but without a ceremony due to coronavirus.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — The Jewish War Veterans MetroWest Post 157 this week announced awarded college scholarships to three local high school graduates.

The post typically holds an award ceremony each spring for scholarship awardees, but couldn't this year due to coronavirus. During the ceremony, students get their $500 scholarships and a citation for meritorious service.

Eliana Cohen, Framingham High School — Cohen will be attending Brandeis University beginning this Fall. Her potential majors are psychology and biology. While she has not identified a specific profession, her interests center around mental health, health care and social justice.

Stephanny Andrade, Natick High School — Andrade will be attending Suffolk University, and will be majoring in accounting and minoring in real estate. She plans on going on a pre-law track to become a real estate attorney.

Ana Mason, Keefe Tech — Mason will also be attending Brandeis University and will major in journalism and minoring in political science, with an eye on being a journalist.
