Framingham Nears 1,000 Coronavirus Cases, 3 More Die
There are now eight nursing homes or assisted living facilities in Framingham with known coronavirus cases.
FRAMINGHAM, MA — As the number of people in Framingham diagnosed with coronavirus nears 1,000, city officials are beginning to get a better idea of how the virus has infiltrated long-term care facilities.
On Saturday, Framingham reported 91 new cases for a pandemic total of 974. There were also three new deaths, bringing the citywide total to 31. Since April 25, the total number of cases has grown by 54 percent.
Each Saturday, Framingham releases demographic data on coronavirus cases. There are now eight assisted living facilities and nursing homes with known cases, and 41 percent of the city's new cases are connected to them.

A majority of the city's coronavirus deaths — 21 — are also connected to those facilities. Health officials reported cases for the following facilities:
- Bethany Health Care Center — more than 30
- Carlyle House — more than 30
- Casa de Ramana — more than 30
- Encompass Health — less than 10
- Oak Knoll 10 — 30
- St. Patrick's Manor — more than 30
- Branches of Framingham — 0
- Brookdale Cushing Park — less than 10
- Carmel Terrace — 0
- Heritage House — less than 10
The 974 coronavirus cases are spread across all age groups, but deaths are mostly in people over age 70. Of the 31 deaths, 20 have been people over 80, and seven have been over 70.

Framingham on Saturday also reported that 74 more people have recovered from the virus. So far, 274 have recovered, leaving 669 active cases in the city.
