Framingham Repaving Could Create Traffic Tie-Ups, But Shouldn't Affect Marathon
The work on more than half a dozen roadways is expected to take nearly a month.
FRAMINGHAM, MA — Paving work has gotten underway on more than half a dozen Framingham roadways, and it could mean delays for some drivers.
Street surfaces are being milled and repaved to fix trenches created during utility construction last year, according to a notice from the city.
The street improvements began Monday and are scheduled to run from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each weekday for nearly a month.

Motorists will encounter one-way alternating traffic on the main roads, and side roads will only be open to local traffic. Police will be present at all the work sites.
The Department of Public Works said construction at one of the sites, Waverly Street, will be completed in time for the Boston Marathon on April 20. More than 20,000 runners are expected to pass along that street – MA Route 135 – from mile 5 to mile 8 of the racecourse.
