Framingham Reports Small Rise In Coronavirus Cases
After a big jump on Monday, Framingham reported just 13 new cases on Wednesday.
FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham reported a rise of 13 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, which is among the smallest in recent weeks.
Wednesday's number comes after the city reported 44 new cases on Monday, the biggest jump in new cases reported in a single period since May. As of Wednesday, there were 143 active cases in the city. The city did not report any new COVID-19 deaths with pandemic death toll at 137.
The state Department of Public Health in its weekly report Wednesday kept Framingham on the "high-risk" communities in the state. Framingham was averaging 12.8 new cases per day per 100,000 residents over the past 14 days, according to the data.

In a bit of good news, the Framingham Public Library is expanding its curbside pickup hours. The two library buildings remain closed to the public. The extended contactless curbside pickup and return hours for both branches are:
- Monday, Tuesday, 9 a.m. to noon 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
- Wednesday, 1 to 4 p.m.
- Thursday, 1 to 7 p.m.
- Friday, Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon
