Framingham Seeks Applicants For Board of Health
Applications are open for two seats on the Framingham Board of Health. Here's what to know.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — The City of Framingham is seeking applicants to serve on the 5-member Board of Health.
The mission of the Framingham Board of Health is to protect, promote, and preserve the health and well-being of all residents of the City of Framingham.

Under Massachusetts General Laws, state and local regulations, and community direction, the Board of Health is held responsible for disease prevention and control; health and environmental protection, and promoting a healthy community.
The Board of Health serves as the local extension of both the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection.

Members of the Board of Health:
- Assure that the basic health needs of their community are being met.
- Attend meetings, participate in strategy discussions, help resolve customer service problems, give input on needs analysis, and negotiations.
- Develop, implement and enforce health policies.
- Oversee inspections to maintain minimum standards for sanitation in housing and food service.

There is a one seat that ends on June 30, 2026, and one seat that ends on June 30, 2027. Applicants MUST submit a cover letter and a resume for the Board of Health seats. The deadline to submit is Sunday, May 19, at 11:59 p.m.
Applications received by the deadline will be reviewed by the Mayor, who will nominate two individuals to the 5-member Health Board.
Nominated individuals must be approved or rejected by the City Council, the legislative branch of City government, within 30 days. Nominees may be asked to attend a couple of City Council meetings and be interviewed before the City Council vote.
