City of Framingham Advertising For Volunteers for the Traffic Commission

FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham is seeking applicants to fill multiple seats on the Traffic Commission.

The City of Framingham Charter defines the specific membership of the Traffic Commission. The police chief, the fire chief, the director of public works, the superintendent of schools, may serve on the Commission or appoint a designee.

The Mayor appoints a total of four residents to the Commission.

All four seats are up for re-appointment. Incumbents and new applicants can apply.

Women and bi-lingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

The seats open are:

  • At-Large seat through June 30, 2027
  • At-Large seat through June 30, 2025
  • Business community seat through June 30, 2025
  • Downtown resident seat through June 30, 2026

Downtown area is defined as a “one-mile radius of the intersection of Routes 126 and 135.”

The deadline to apply is Monday, September 30, 2024.

If the Council takes no action, after 30 days from the nomination, the individuals are automatically approved.
