Framingham Sees Slowing Crime Reports, Records Suggest

Statistics showed a dip last month in Framingham police calls and arrests.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Crimes and other emergencies reported here are down slightly, according to a new report from the Framingham Police Department.

In February, the department responded to 3,024 emergency calls, made 60 arrests and issued 64 summonses, a report Tuesday said.

Those numbers compare to 3,554 calls, 97 arrests and 50 summonses in January.

In December 2025, the totals were 3,698 calls, 63 arrests and 54 summonses. Last November, police here reported 3,467 calls, 86 arrests and 66 summonses.

Framingham ranks 45th among Massachusetts cities and towns with the highest crime rates, according to the most recent data available from the FBI. The ratio of 1,382.6 crimes per 100,000 residents puts the city’s incidence at roughly the same level as Medford’s.

Holyoke reported the highest rate, 5,291.4, based on the 2024 figures. Boston ranked seventh, with 2,652.6 crimes per 100,000 residents.

Framingham has a population of roughly 73,000 people, according to the most recent census data.
