Framingham Starts Offering COVID-19 Vaccines For Toddlers

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham on Monday began two new coronavirus initiatives: COVID-19 vaccine shots for kids as young as 18 months; and a new offering of at-home COVID-19 test kits. The FDA recently approved Pfizer and Moderna vaccines for children as young as 6 months old.

Starting Monday, June 27, the Office of Public Health Nursing will begin to offer COVID-19 vaccinations for children 18 months and over. Vaccinations will be available by appointment only and will take place at the Office of Public Health Nursing, located at 113 Concord Street. Both Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be available.

Also beginning Monday, June 27, the City of Framingham will make over 13,000 iHealth COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test Kits available to the public. The kits will become available immediately at several municipal buildings, which are listed below.

In the coming weeks they will also become available at several community-based organizations to be announced. The iHealth COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test kits will be available, for free, at the following public locations while supplies last:

• Main Library: 49 Lexington Street, during hours of operation
• McAuliffe Library: 746 Water Street, during hours of operation
• Callahan Senior Center: 535 Union Ave., during hours of operation
• Public Health Department: 150 Concord Street, Suite 205, during hours of operation
• Office of Public Health Nursing: 113 Concord Street, during clinic hours
