Framingham Starts Water Main Flushing Tuesday

Water main flushing will last for six weeks in Framingham with the goal of improving drinking water quality in the city.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — The City of Framingham Water Department will begin conducting water main flushing, starting Tuesday, October 10.

The flushing will continue in designated areas for 6 weeks.

Water main flushing will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in residential areas and from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. in business and commercial areas.

The purpose of the program is to improve drinking water quality for all.

The flushing process may cause discolored water and a reduction in pressure. The discoloration of the water will be temporary and is not harmful.

If the condition exists for longer than 24 hours, please contact the water department at 508-532-6050.

The flushing will begin in Zone A1, and then move through each of the zones in this map.
