Framingham State Announces 2023 Swiacki Children’s Literature Festival

The celebration of children's books is scheduled for November and features Dashka Slater and Ekua Holmes.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham State University is again set to host a celebration of children's books and their creators with the 2023 Swiacki Children’s Literature Festival.

The event is scheduled for Nov. 2 and will host featured author Dashka Slater and artist Ekua Holmes.

There are a number of sessions on Nov. 2 starting at 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. A book sale and book signing will be available from 3 to 5 p.m., with the first talk of the day at 4:30 p.m.

That discussion — "What's New In Children's Literature" — is hosted by coordinator of the M.Ed. in Literacy & Language program at Framingham State Laura Hudock and Samantha Westall, Framingham State Curriculum Librarian.

Lectures from Holmes and Slater are scheduled from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
