Framingham Students To Get Free Access To Sporting Events
Framingham school officials say they want to boost student attendance at high school games.
FRAMINGHAM, MA — Crowds at Bowditch Field might be a lot bigger this year, but not because the Flyers have a new star player.
As of Feb. 20, Framingham High School students will no longer have to pay to get into school games at most facilities around the city. Students were being charged $3 for games at the high school, and $5 for Bowditch Field events.
Students will only have to present their student ID card to get into games. The admission fee at Loring Arena will remain in place for now, school officials said.

"The goal in waiving the Framingham student admission fees was to remove a barrier that may restrict students from interacting with their peers," School Department Finance Director Lincoln Lynch said in a statement.
This is the second big financial boost for student athletics in recent years. In 2018, the School Committee voted to eliminate athletic fees to boost participation.
