Framingham Teachers Have A New 3-Year Contract
The School Committee recently voted unanimously to ratify the new contract, which comes well ahead of the deadline to do so.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham teachers and the school district have ratified a new contract ahead of the next school year.
The Framingham School Committee voted unanimously to approve a new three-year contract for local educators with cost of living adjustments built into the contract for each of those years.
This version of the contract also received "overwhelming" ratification votes from the three units of the Framingham Teachers' Association, which also include administrative support staff and educational support staff, in addition to teachers.

The vote was the end of a process that began in 2023, with officials stating that 13 sessions have happened between the two sides since November.
Officials said an agreement was met with common goals "to recruit and retain high quality educators and education support professionals, as well as to create and sustain safe learning environments for students."

It also marks a unique spot for educators, who haven't had a contract in place this far ahead of the end date "in decades."
Superintendent Bob Tremblay said the negotiations put both sides on common ground.
"From the moment that we began contract discussions it felt like a mutually-focused conversation around how to improve contract language that would ultimately improve systems that directly benefit our students. The Agreements reflect a balance of mutual interests, demonstrate commitment to our talented professionals, and provide a solid foundation upon which we can start a new school year in the fall."
Framingham School Committee Chair Jessica Barnhill thanked multiple parties who played a role in the process, noting that the agreements were made "in light of significant budgetary constraints."
"I am grateful to our educators, administrative support staff, and paraprofessionals for their collaboration and work in regards to reaching a resolution," Barnhill said.
