FRAMINGHAM, MA — Commuting through Framingham may be a slower ride than usual with several construction projects starting next week. Among the projects are road and sidewalk closures, bridge repairs and street sweeping.

Beaver Street Bridge

Utility companies will continue re-locating overhead wires on Beaver Street. Two-way and/or one-way alternating traffic pattern in effect. Expect minor delays.
Edgell Road/Central Street Intersection Utilities
Water main installation will continue on Edgell Road. Once water main work is completed, the contractor will begin to de-mobilize the temporary water bypass. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect at times during the day. Police detail officers will be on-site.

Fountain Street Roadway Improvements
Fence and curbing installation continues. Pavement markings to be applied. A two-way and/or one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect during the day time hours. Police detail officers will be on-site.
Lincoln Street Gas Main Relay (Eversource Gas)
Eversource Gas will begin installing gas main on Lincoln Street. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect.
Lindbergh and Hampshire Rd. Water Main Replacement
The Water Division will begin installing temporary water bypass pipe in preparation for water main replacement. Expect minimal delays.
North Concord Street Road & Sidewalk Improvements
Curbing and sidewalk work will continue on North Concord Street. Northbound traffic will be detoured via A Street. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect south of A Street.
Salem End Road Bridge Rehabilitation
Bridge rehabilitation continues. Expect minimal delays during the day.
Salem End Road (Between Badger Rd. & Lantern Rd.) – Trench Milling & Paving
A City hired contractor will begin milling and paving water trench on Salem End Road. A detour plan will be in effect.
State Street Crosswalk & Sidewalk Improvements
The Highway Division and a City hired contractor will continue installing a new crosswalk and sidewalk on State St. near Maynard Rd. Expect minimal delays.
Summer Street Paving & Sidewalk Replacement
Sidewalk and curbing installation will continue. A second crew will continue making asphalt island adjustments on Summer Street at Central Street. Two-way and/or one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect during the day time hours. Police detail officers will be on-site.
Street Sweeping – Area C
The Highway Division will street sweep Area C on Tuesday, August 20, 2019. NO PARKING will be allowed from 9 AM to Noon. Vehicles parked on the street will be ticketed and towed.
The following streets will be swept during this operation: Alexander Street, Arlington Place, Arlington Street, Blandin Avenue, Columbia Street, Eames Street, East Street, Gordon Street, Herbert Street, Irving Street (#46 – 280), Marble Street, Phipps Street, Pratt Street, Roxanna Street, Snow Street, South Street, Summit Street, Taylor Street, Waushakum Street and Wellington Avenue.
Winter Street Gas Main Relay (Eversource Gas)
Gas main relay continues. A detour plan will be in effect. Expect delays.
Worcester Road Eastbound/Rt.9 East – Water & Sewer Improvements
Night work: Sunday (night) – Friday (morning), 9 PM to 5 AM
A City hired contractor will continue connecting temporary water service connections to the water bypass. Crews will begin installing water main at the intersection of Worcester Rd. (Rt.9 East) and Concord St.
Detour plans will be in effect when the contractor is working at the intersection of RT. 9-Eastbound/East Ramp Concord St.
Rt. 9 East right lane will be closed to traffic during working hours. Please use caution if you are traveling through the area.
