Framingham Video Game Post Poses "No Credible Threat" To School
An excerpt from a violent video game was circulated around social media with a title that referenced Framingham High School.
FRAMINGHAM, MA — A video circulating social media showing a violent video game with a caption relating to Framingham High School has been deemed a non-credible threat by the school and authorities. Police and school officials were notified about the video on Friday morning and sent an email to parents and staff on Friday afternoon.
The email reads in part:
"This morning it came to the attention of a Framingham High School School Resource Officer (SRO) that a questionable video was posted on social media. The brief clip was an excerpt from a violent video game and the title of the video referenced Framingham High School.
We worked closely with the Framingham Police Department, have investigated the circumstances, and have concluded that there is no credible threat. Student safety was never compromised and the video has been taken down. Administration is addressing the matter."
Schools remained open as usual. No word on who created the video.
