Framingham Murder Suspect Was Out On Weapons Charge: DA
New details emerged Wednesday in the murder of Jamee Maddrey-Ammons, 27, on Monday.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — The man charged with murder in the stabbing death of a Framingham woman was out of jail on weapons charges stemming from an incident in Mattapan last year, according to the Suffolk County DA's office.
Charles McKoy, 25, of Brockton, has been charged with murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in connection to the killing of Jamee Maddrey-Ammons, 27.
Maddrey-Ammons was found dead of multiple stab wounds in her Interfaith Terrace apartment at around 5:30 p.m. Monday. Framingham police found her during a welfare check. McKoy and Maddrey-Ammons were in a relationship, officials have said, and they were together the night before and the morning of the murder.

McKoy was arrested in Boston on Monday night after he cut off a GPS monitoring device he was wearing in connection to another criminal matter. According to the Suffolk County District Attorney, McKoy was arrested in July 2018 on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and possessing a firearm with a defaced serial number. He allegedly pulled a gun on a police officer in Mattapan who was responding to a domestic incident involving McKoy, according to prosecutors.
After a Feb. 21 appearance in the Dorchester Division of Boston Municipal Court, McKoy was allowed to go free under GPS monitoring. Prosecutors had asked for $10,000 bail instead.

"No mother should have to bury her child, and no grandparent should outlive their grandchild. In memory of Jamee Maddrey-Ammons, who was born on Feb. 22, 1992, was loved by many, and taken from us to soon due to domestic violence," organizer Rosemary Maddrey wrote in a GoFundMe appeal on Wednesday.
As of Wednesday night, the funeral fundraiser had earned about $2,500 out of a $15,000 goal.
