Framingham Schools Closed On Monday
A messy snowstorm might dump more than a foot on the area by Tuesday morning, according to forecasts.
FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham Superintendent Robert Tremblay decided early Monday morning to close schools. The MetroWest area is under a winter storm warning until 7 a.m. Tuesday, and there's the possibility of icing on Monday morning.
"Due to inclement weather, school is cancelled today, Monday, December 2nd. All schools, before and after school programs, and District offices will also be closed. ALL FHS athletics winter tryouts have been postponed to Tuesday, December 3rd," the district said in its website.
The city of Framingham has also declared a snow emergency and issued a snow parking ban between 8 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday. Cars that park on the following roads will be ticketed and towed: Beacon, Belknap, Bishop, Brook, Central, Cochituate, Concord, Edgell, Franklin, Gates, Grove, Hartford, Hollis, Howard, Irving, Lincoln, Potter, Salem End, School, Summer, Temple, Union, Water, Waverly, Winter, and Winthrop.

The messy storm could drop more than 12 inches of snow in the area by Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. In general, areas north of the Mass Pike will get higher accumulations, according to forecasts.

Other school districts in the area cancelling school include Marlborough and Worcester.
