Framingham Wrestlers Earn Division 1 Central Title

This is the Flyers first sectional title since 2012. Framingham High had 4 champions and qualified 8 wrestlers for the state championships.

The Framingham High School wrestling team won the MIAA Division 1 Central sectional title Saturday, defeating rival Lincoln-Sudbury, who finished in second place.

The Flyers, in winning their first section title since 2012, scored 209 points. Lincoln-Sudbury finished with 185 points.

Framingham wrestler Jake O’Brien was named outstanding wrestler of the tournament. He was one of four Flyers to win their weight class. The other Central champions were Brandon Williams at 220 pounds, Marlen Lamas at 145 pounds and Jake Stetson at 152 pounds.

The Flyers qualified eight wrestlers for the MIAA Division 1 wrestling championships.

Other Framingham wrestlers who qualified are Bryce Cushing at 138 pounds, Matt Golden at 170 pounds, Ryan Judge at 182 pounds and Ben Shapiro at 106 pounds.
