I am proud to announce my candidacy for District 2 City Councilor (Precincts 3 and 5 - including the neighborhoods of Nobscot and Saxonville). I’m a proud resident of Framingham, the place I’ve lived in since I was 12 years old. I am an Accountant and senior member of the finance team of a NYC-based renewable energy company. I have over 15 years of professional expertise in corporate finance, budgeting, and financial analysis. The City Council needs this expertise. It will serve us well when we look at economic development options and quality of life issues in our district and throughout the City. I am equipped to make a significant contribution to the annual municipal budget process and in evaluating financial strategic planning.

I have excellent communication skills and a successful track record working with people from diverse backgrounds. I am fluent in English and Spanish, and I am able to converse in French and understand Brazilian Portuguese, all of which I have learned while living in Framingham. I will use all of my skills to foster more open and productive lines of communication between the City Council and other areas of city government. We achieve greater things when we are better able to work together.

I believe it’s important to be involved in the community. For years I have volunteered my time and expertise to community associations, non-profit organizations and governmental bodies. Currently, I serve on the Board of Finance for Edwards Church in Saxonville and on the Finance Committee of the Family Equality Council, a national non-profit. I served Framingham as a Precinct 3 town meeting member and I am a Commissioner on the Framingham Human Relations Commission. The commitments I have made to these organizations are driven by my desire to use my skills to give back and help others. I pledge to bring to the City Council this same passion and commitment.

The City of Framingham, our hometown, is very special to me and my family. We own our home and are raising our children here in this vibrant city where we ourselves grew up and went to school. I know the city very well having been raised near the Framingham / Natick line on Route 135 and now living in Precinct 3 of District 2. I look forward to being a strong advocate and an effective representative for District 2 on the City Council. I humbly ask for your vote, your support, and I invite you to connect.
