FRAMINGHAM, MA — A freight train derailed in downtown Framington Tuesday.
"Due to a cargo train derailment at the Framingham (Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority) station, the traffic gates" at Concord Street and Waverly Street are in the "down position and traffic is not able to cross the intersection," the Framingham Police Department said in a social media post.
The crossing reopened Tuesday, but as of 5 p.m., the commuter parking lot remained in accessible, according to police.
