Funeral Service Sunday For John Hart, 82
Visiting hours will be at Norton Funeral Home in Framingham on Saturday from 3-6 p.m.

John Cameron Hart, 82, a resident of Framingham since 1961, died Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham.
He was the husband of 54 years of Norma L. (Stadtfeld) Hart of Framingham.
Born in Quincy, he was the son of the late John and Catherine (Cameron) Hart.

He was a graduate of Braintree High School class of 1950 and the University of Cincinnati. He retired in 1997 from the New England Division U.S. Army Corps of after 40 years as a Civil Engineer. At the time of his retirement he was the Chief of the Geotechnical Design Branch. He had received many awards for outstanding achievement and was inducted into the New England Division Distinguished Civilian Gallery.
Hart served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957 having served as a topographic surveyor stationed at the Presidio of San Francisco, CA. Some highlights of his service career were spending one summer in Yosemite national Park surveying and making contour maps and two winters surveying the boundies of the U.S. Army Yuma Test Station in Arizona.

He was a director in the Framingham Youth Hockey for more than 40 years and president of the program five times. For over 29 years he was the director of the FYHP Beginner’s Learn to Skate and Hockey Program. He loved skating with the young children while teaching them to skate and play hockey.
Hart was recognized for his service to the children of Framingham by being an honoree of the Salute to Framingham in 2001. He was inducted into the Massachusetts Hockey Hall of Fame in 2003.
He was the recipient of Mass Hockey Local Director of the Year Award in 1997 and a member of the Loring Arena Committee since July 2000. Hart was a Trustee Emeritis long time member of Edwards Church, UCC.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, John N. Hart and his wife Ann of Tustin, CA, Susan E. Hansen and her husband Brent of Sun Valley, ID, Daniel C. Hart and his wife Doreen of Grafton and Andrew J. Hart and his wife Heidi of west Jordan, UT. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Syringa and Galena Hansen of Sun Valley, ID, Nicholas, Tyler and Jack Hart of Grafton and Andrew Hart, Jr. of west Jordan, UT, his brother Douglas E. Hart and his wife Theresa of Denver, NC and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Sunday, Nov. 16, at 2 p.m. at the Edwards Church, UCC, 39 Edwards Street.
Visiting hours at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St., (corner of Union Ave.), Framingham will be Saturday from 3-6 p.m.
