Hanson's Farm, a fifth-generation family farm on Nixon Road in Framingham, is now offering Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) shares for the 2018 season.
To celebrate the coming of spring, the farm is offering a “Saint Patrick's Day Special.” Anyone who signs up for a full share by the end of March will receive a free flower share (a $100 value), plus, for those 21 and older, a gift certificate good for a growler of beer at Jack's Abby Craft Lagers, another locally-owned family business.
The CSA season begins in mid-June and ends in late October. The cost of a full 20 week share is $675. The alternate 10 week share is $375. The farm grows 175 different types of produce, include numerous types of tomatoes, eggplant, squash, peppers, herbs, and more. A CSA share provides shareholders with a wide variety of fresh, locally-grown vegetables on a regular basis, while at the same time helping to preserve open space in Framingham and reduce the city's carbon footprint.
