Hanson's Farm Offers a Sweetheart of a Deal for Valentine's Day

Free Red Roses for CSA Shareholders Who Sign Up By February 14

Hanson's Farm in Framingham is brightening the month of February with a sweetheart of a deal for Valentine's Day.

“My wife Martha and I were talking the other day about Valentine's Day and what a shame it is that all the beautiful flowers we grow during the season aren't available at this time of year,” said Tom Hanson, whose family has farmed their land on Nixon Road for five generations. “So we decided to make Valentine's Day a bit more special for our CSA shareholders.”

Anyone that signs up for a full CSA share by Valentine's Day will receive two dozen red roses and a free flower share during the CSA season. Anyone who sign ups for an alternate week share by Valentine's Day will receive one dozen red roses and a free alternate week flower share.

Roses can be picked up on Valentine's Day at the white farm house at the farm (20 Nixon Road, Framingham) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

A CSA full share will feed a family of four, while the alternate week share is sufficient for smaller households. The CSA season begins in mid-June and ends in late October.

The farm grows 175 different types of produce, include numerous types of tomatoes, eggplant, squash, peppers, herbs, and more. A CSA share provides shareholders with a wide variety of fresh, locally-grown vegetables on a regular basis, while at the same time helping to preserve open space in Framingham and reduce the city's carbon footprint.

To get the special offer, write "Valentine's Day Special" on the sign up sheet, which can be downloaded at hansonsfarmframingham.com.

Hanson advises anyone interested in taking advantage of the Valentine's Day special to sign up soon, as the amount of roses available for orders received that day will be limited.
