FRAMINGHAM, MA — Recent black bear sightings have prompted Framingham officials to remind residents of ways to keep them from their yards and neighborhoods.
Framingham Animal Control officials are reminding residents that, over the next few weeks, residents should plan to take down bird feeders.
This comes after a black bear destroyed bird feeders in the Edith Road and Swanson Road area of Framingham.

Though officials said there's no need to panic as this is normal behavior for bears during this time of year, removing the bird feeders can help prevent unwanted bear encounters.
For pet owners, Massachusetts officials also suggest not leaving any pet food or treats outside, as that can also attract bears.
