Library Foundation Announces Bookmobile Build Is Underway

Service Will Begin in April, 2019

The bookmobile has been delivered to the company that will outfit the interior of the vehicle, which is a Ford 450 box truck, the Framingham Public Library Foundation recently announced.

The company will add a side door, shelves, wiring, flooring, computers, a lift for people with mobility issues, and an exterior awning.

Meanwhile, library staff members will be planning bookmobile schedules and routes and order books and media for the bookmobile’s initial collection. In addition, library staff, FPLF members, and library trustees will be working with a graphic designer to design the exterior finish of the vehicle. The vehicle will then go to a graphics or signage company that can execute the design.
