Lt. Governor Visit to the United Way of Tri-County
Lt. Governor Karyn Polito proclaiming February 11, 2018 as Mass 2-1-1 Day in the Commonwealth
The United Way of Tri-County welcomed Lt. Governor Karyn Polito yesterday (2/6) as she read a proclamation from Governor Baker naming February 11, 2018 as Mass2-1-1 Day in Massachusetts. Mass2-1-1 is the free and confidential statewide information and referral line for all resident of Massachusetts in need of human service programs and services. By dialing 2-1-1 from any phone is Massachusetts, callers are connected with the local resources they need. A luncheon celebration followed after announcing the retirement of Mass2-1-1 Vice President Gary Lever. His successor, Eileen Davis, is scheduled to take over Mass2-1-1 leadership on April 1st. Davis, is currently the Director of Call2Talk, a program of the United Way of Tri-County and Mass2-1-1, a statewide suicide prevention and mental health line.
On hand to help celebrate were representatives from United Way Worldwide, United Way of Mass Bay, United Way of Central Mass, United Way of Webster/Dudley, United Way of Tri-County and Mass2-1-1 Board Members, Local, State and City Representatives, many other VIPs, stakeholders, and United Way volunteers and Mass2-1-1 staff.
