FRAMINGHAM, MA — The man found dead in a Framingham pond earlier this month has been identified as 71-year-old Richard Palmer, the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office said Wednesday.

On Jan. 10, Framingham police issued an alert seeking Palmer, who police said had been missing since November. On Jan. 11, a person walking by the downtown-area Learned Pond reported seeing a body in the water.

Around 1:30 p.m. that day, the Framingham fire dive team retrieved the body. Palmer's death was not due to a crime, the DA's office said in a news release on Wednesday.
