Margareth Shepard - Best Choice for State Rep. in the 6th Middlesex

I’ve had the opportunity to work with both candidates currently running to become Framingham’s State Representative for the new 6th Middlesex District. I served with Priscila Sousa on the Human Relations Commission after Framingham first became a City and I served with Margareth Shepard for 2 years on the Framingham City Council. As Co-Vice Chair of the Framingham Democrats, I am also part of the leadership team that works to engage our members on supporting statewide initiatives. Both Shepard and Sousa are members.

My observation is that Margareth Shepard shows up! She doesn’t need to be asked. Shepard has been advancing and supporting the Democratic platform for the benefit of those who’ve needed her advocacy the most, the residents of the District. In addition to helping to lead the local Democrats, during her time on the Framingham City Council, Shepard never lost sight of the important work that needed to be done at the State and Federal level. She took the time to bring residents, voters and elected officials together to work locally to support important state legislation knowing it would have a positive impact on our community. Even in the confusion of the early days of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Shepard realized quickly that the residents of South Framingham were being disproportionately affected and that there was not enough being done to aid them. She demanded more for South Framingham residents and was persistent in bringing attention to their unique needs, which she understood well, ultimately helping to bring a COVID-19 testing center to St. Tarcisius Church on Waverley St.

Shepard’s experience is relevant and her commitment to the District has been constant and effective for many years and that makes her stand out as the District’s best choice for State Representative. Vote for Margareth Shepard on Tuesday, September 6th!
