Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Center Receives Bronze National Quality Award

Natick MA – Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Center has been recognized by the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living as a 2013 recipient of the Bronze – Commitment to Quality award for its dedication to improving the lives of its residents through improved quality care. This national program honors facilities that have demonstrated their commitment to improving quality care for seniors and individuals with disabilities. Facilities must advance through three levels (Bronze, Silver, Gold) by meeting increasingly challenging performance measures. The National Quality Award Program is centered on the core values and criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program.

“In an age of changing health care, Mary Ann Morse has remained committed to prioritizing quality care above all else,” said Mark Parkinson, President and CEO of AHCA/NCAL. “This facility is an example of the great things that can be accomplished when we commit to person-centered care.”

According to Lisa Kubiak, Executive Director of Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Center, there will be a celebration with the staff in the next couple of weeks. “This award belongs to everyone who works here. We are all committed to meeting the needs of each resident as an individual. We will continue to implement our improvement system, and our goal is to receive both the Silver and  Gold Awards in the future,” said Ms. Kubiak.

Bronze applicants must demonstrate their ability to implement a performance improvement system. Mary Ann Morse Healthcare was one of 359 facilities to receive the Bronze level award this year.

“This award is not simply a plaque that facilities hang on the wall and forget,” said Ed McMahon, Chair, AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Board of Overseers. “Facilities such as Mary Ann Morse receive this award because they’re committed to the constant journey of improving quality care.”

The awards are sponsored by AHCA/NCAL Associate Business Member My InnerView, by National Research Corporation. My InnerView represents the voice of nursing home and assisted living residents, families, and employees with quality measurement solutions and satisfaction surveys for the healthcare continuum.
