UPDATED: MBTA Suspends Commuter Rail Service on Tuesday
There will be no Commuter Rail, subway, or trolley service all day on Tuesday, Feb. 10. This includes the Framingham/Worcester line.

UPDATED at 5:15 p.m: MBTA just announced all rail service will be suspended on Tuesday.
There will be no Commuter Rail, subway, or trolley service all day on Tuesday, Feb. 10. This includes the Framingham/Worcester line.
“On Tuesday, all MBTA rail services (Subway, Trolley, and Commuter Rail) will be suspended all day while maintenance crews continue to clear snow and ice from tracks, the third rail and switches.

Mechanical forces will continue to assess the damage done to subway cars, trolleys, locomotives and passenger coaches.”
Bus service will be available on an extremely limited basis with various buses on snow routes Buses will run with delays due to traffic congestion and local street conditions. Bus customers will not be able to make transfers at customary intermodal points due to the suspension of rail service. Customers need to be aware of this before starting their commutes.

The MBTA continues to encourage those who do not need to travel to avoid doing so and those who decide to use buses to stay updated on the latest service information, which can be found at mbta.com/winter.

Those planning on using the Commuter Rail to get home will have until 7 p.m. to catch a train outbound from Boston. This will also affect many health care workers trying to get into Boston or Worcester.
The MBTA announced that they will suspend all subway, trolley, and Commuter Rail services effective at 7 p.m. tonight. Limited bus service will remain.
The announcement comes on the heels of an earlier decision to suspend all Commuter Rail service inbound to Boston.
All day, the Commuter Rail and subway have been plagued with delays and cancellation. The most notable incident came in Quincy where nearly 50 people were stuck in a Red Line train between Quincy Center and Quincy Adams for two hours after snow caused the third rail to lose power.
