MetroWest YMCA Has New Executive Director

The new executive director began her career with the MetroWest YMCA as a wellness instructor in 1989.

Lisa Mandozzi of Ashland, has been appointed Executive Director of the MetroWest YMCA’s Framingham Branch at 280 Old Connecticut Path.

With 25 years of increasing responsibilities and management experience at the YMCA, Mandozzi has embraced the organization’s mission and worked tirelessly to further the Y’s cause of strengthening community through a focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, according to a press release.

Mandozzi has demonstrated strong leadership, team building, problem solving, organizational and inter-personal communication skills. Mandozzi began her career with the MetroWest YMCA in 1989 as a Wellness instructor, and has progressed in responsibility to her most recent position as Director of Operations. She was instrumental in implementing LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA for cancer survivors at the Framingham Branch. Mandozzi has served on the Leadership MetroWest Alumni Committee as well as on the MetroWest Health Foundation’s Childhood Obesity Taskforce.

“We are very excited to have Lisa as the Executive Director of our Framingham Branch,” said Rick MacPherson, President & CEO of the MetroWest YMCA in a press release. “Lisa brings to this position a wide range of experiences in leadership at the Y. She has proven skills in the areas of program and staff development, building community partnerships, and management of YMCA operations. We are confident that Lisa’s enthusiasm, ability, knowledge of our members and their needs, and her passion for strengthening the community will make her an effective leader as we continue to advance the mission of the Y.”

Mandozzi earned her BS at Tufts University.

She lives and has raised her two boys, Michael and Nicholas, in Ashland with her husband Dave.

The MetroWest YMCA, with branches in Framingham and Hopkinton, serves more than 20,000 people annually with its programs.
