MutualOne Charitable Foundation Awards $2,000 to Neighbor Brigade

The grant to Neighbor Brigade in Natick was among awards totaling $63,375 in the Foundation's most recent round of funding.

Steven M. Sousa, executive vice president and chief operating officer of MutualOne Bank and a MutualOne Charitable Foundation trustee, has announced a recent Foundation award of $2,000 to the Natick chapter of Neighbor Brigade.

Neighbor Brigade establishes and mobilizes community-based networks of volunteers that provide free and immediate non-medical support services to residents facing a sudden crisis such as a cancer diagnosis, major surgery, accident, or other tragedy.

The Natick chapter, which is one of 35 chapters in eastern Massachusetts, currently numbers 300 volunteers.
“Neighbor Brigade is a wonderful example of people helping people,” said Sousa. “Knowing that hundreds of people in your town are ready and willing to spring into action to help in a time of crisis should provide a certain peace of mind for all residents.”
