MutualOne Foundation Awards $2,500 to Free Medical Program

Mark R. Haranas, president and CEO of MutualOne Bank and a trustee of the MutualOne Charitable Foundation, announced a Foundation grant of $2,500 to the MetroWest Free Medical Program.

The award will support the volunteer organization’s emergency preparedness program, including training and the purchase of medical supplies and equipment.

According to Kim Prendergast, executive director, the grant will help MetroWest Free Medical Program address the increasingly acute needs of low-income uninsured and under-insured individuals who seek care from the program.
“The Free Medical Program is a lifeline for the less fortunate in our community,” said Haranas. “We are pleased to offer our support for this critical program.”

The grant to the MetroWest Free Medical Program was among awards totaling $63,375 in the Foundation’s most recent round of funding.

Since it was established in 1998, the MutualOne Charitable Foundation has donated over $2.8 million to charitable, educational, and civic initiatives that improve and enhance the quality of life in Framingham, Natick, and surrounding communities.
