New Coronavirus Outbreak At Framingham Nursing Home
The Casa de Ramana Rehabilitation Center accounted for more than two-thirds of the 61 new cases reported in Framingham on Wednesday.
FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham officials on Wednesday reported a new large coronavirus outbreak at a city nursing home. Out of the 61 new cases reported Wednesday, 42 were connected to the Casa de Ramana Rehabilitation Center.
With the 61 new cases, Framingham's total over the course of the pandemic hit 435 on Wednesday. The city did not report any new deaths, and the number of people who have recovered stood at 101.
Coronavirus has devastated senior care homes across the state. At least one resident of Framingham's Shillman House senior complex has died of the virus, and 17 residents of the Mary Ann Morse home in Natick have died.

So far, 1,205 residents of long-term care facilities have died of coronavirus — that's more than half the 2,182 total deaths in Massachusetts. Another 7,721 residents and staff at long-term care facilities have been diagnosed with coronavirus, according to state figures.
