FRAMINGHAM, MA — A former pro football player is accused of killing Framingham native Gabriella Perpetuo last week, according to multiple reports.

Perpetuo, 29, died late Thursday after an emergency response in the Chattanooga, Tenn., suburb of Ooltewah, where Darron Lee was arrested for first-degree murder, officials there said.

As reported by media, Lee claimed his girlfriend may have fallen while taking a shower. But police found signs of trauma, including a 1-inch stab wound to Perpetuo's abdomen.

Lee was held in a Hamilton County, Tenn., jail and set to appear in court on Wednesday, according to jail records.
