Photos: 3 From Framingham Honored At Black Excellence Ceremony
Noval Alexander, Mira Donaldson and Rev. J. Anthony Llyod were honored at the Statehouse as 'unsung heroes'.

FRAMINGHAM, MA- Some familiar faces were honored Monday at the Massachusetts Statehouse for the Black Excellence on the Hill ceremony. The ceremony is hosted by the Massachusetts Black and Latino Legislative Caucus and highlights achievements by members of the black community across the state.
Noval Alexander and Mira Donaldson were each nominated by local legislators for exemplifying black excellence in their community and being unsung heroes. Rev. J. Anthony Lyod was nominated as well but could not attend the ceremony.
Alexander was nominated by Rep. Jack Lewis and honored for his work in the school community. Alexander was a leading advocate for the successful passing of the "Yes on Fuller" campaign and is an active member of the Framingham School Committee and the Framingham School Building Committee.

Donaldson is a student at Framingham High School and, as Senate President Karen Spilka called her, "a budding legislator." Donaldson was nominated by Rep. Maria Robinson. She is the president of the Framingham High School Black Student Union and most recently advocated renaming of Christopher Columbus Day as Indigenous People's Day. In the past Donaldson marched for gun reform as part of the national March for Our Lives movement. She is an honor roll student.
Rev. J. Anthony Llyod was nominated by Senate President Karen Spilka for his work as pastor of the Greater Framingham Community Church, the largest predominantly African-American church in the MetroWest area.
