Fred tackles a fascinating piece of twentieth century town history, that of the Cushing Hospital, a complex built here during World War II for the U.S. Army. Relying heavily on in-person interviews, he reconstructs its wartime history and how, in peacetime, it became a leader in the field of geriatric medicine. Book signing to follow.
