Rep. Clark Offers Help For Medicare Open Enrollment
Medicare open enrollment began on Oct. 15. U.S. Rep. Katherine Clark's office is offering help in the MetroWest area.
Office of Katherine Clark: Yesterday marked the start of the Medicare Open Enrollment period, which is active until December 7, 2019. During the annual period, those on Medicare can switch their health care or prescription drug plans between Medicare Advantage, traditional Medicare coverage, and different Medicare Part D plans. There are several resources available online (Medicare Plan Finder), by telephone, and in-person. The Office of Congresswoman Katherine Clark (MA-5) also has staff ready to help seniors and their families by answering questions throughout the process.
Nearly half, 46%, of Americans who switch Medicare plans cut their premiums by at least 5% in the following year.
Seniors are able to switch their plans online as well as request printed materials or conduct their business over the phone by calling 1-800-MEDICARE. Alternatively, seniors can speak with a SHINE counselor at their local senior center. If there are any issues locating a SHINE counselor or acquiring materials, please contact the office of Congresswoman Clark at 617-354-0292.
