FRAMINGHAM, MA — The commuter rail is up and running again in Framingham, and Route 135 is open after Sunday's train derailment put a kink in all travel through the area.

Police confirmed on Monday morning that the roadway had been cleared overnight, making the detours set up through at Route 126, Mellen Street and Cedar Street null and void.

The derailment happened along Route 135 near the intersection of Cedar Street and a short distance west of Route 126 in downtown Framingham. That location is also near the commuter rail stop in Framingham.

According to police, CSX needed specialized equipment to remove the derailed freight train, pushing delays well into the early morning hours on Monday.

The commuter rail is also up and running in Framingham, though the MBTA reported delays early Monday morning due to train traffic.

At the Framingham Station, passengers were boarding trains on the outbound platform on Monday morning.
