See Framingham Students Who Are National Merit Semifinalists

A few hundred students from Massachusetts were chosen for the initial round of National Merit scholarships coming in 2022.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Students across Massachusetts were notified this week that they are semifinalists in this year's National Merit Scholarship Corp. (NMSC) competition, putting them on track to pick up college scholarships at the end of this school year.

Of the 16,000 students nationwide (and a few hundred in this state) picked for the semifinalist round, about half will go on to earn scholarships in the spring. The scholarships can be worth thousands of dollars each, and some are backed by major corporations — locally, those include AbbVie, Raytheon and Siemens Corp.
