Senior Center Could Soon Replace Former Framingham School: Report
Plans call for converting the former Marian High School into a multigenerational community center.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — The city has gotten a $3 million boost to turn a former high school into a much-needed community center.
Elected officials gathered Wednesday to celebrate the award of federal funds for the overhaul, according to the Worcester Business Journal.
The funding may allow Framingham to turn the former Marian High School, a private Catholic institution at 273 Union Ave., into space that could help the city’s growing elderly population.

The city of Framingham bought the site for $3.35 million in 2023 using federal American Rescue Plan Act funds, with the goal of converting the school into a multigenerational community center.
With the award of additional federal funding, the project could be headed toward completion.
