SLIDESHOW: MetroWest Chamber Golf Tourney Raises $5,000 Plus for Foundation

The MetroWest Chamber of Commerce held its 8th Annual Educational Foundation Golf Tournament at Charter Oaks Country Club.

The MetroWest Chamber of Commerce held its 8th Annual Educational Foundation Golf Tournament this week at Charter Oaks Country Club in Hudson.

​More than 120 golfers helped to raise $5,000 plus, said Chamber President & CEO Bonnie Biocchi.

The money raises goes to the Chamber’s educational foundation, which last year awarded $11,000 in scholarships to students.

Annually, the MetroWest Educational Foundation awards both STEM and Arcadius, Emma & Robert Lemieux Scholarship scholarships to students in the MetroWest Chamber’s member towns.Those communities include: Ashland, Bellingham, Dover, Framingham, Franklin, Holliston, Hopedale, Hopkinton, Hudson, Marlborough, Medfield, Medway, Millis, Milford, Natick, Northborough, Sherborn, Southborough, Sudbury, Wayland, Wellesley, Weston and Westborough.

In 2015, there will be an additional scholarship for a student that wishes to pursue early childhood education, said Biocchi.

The Foundation has earmarked $1,000 to that scholarship.

The winners of the golf tournament were awarded the Walter M. Kelleher Memorial Cup
