Team Framingham 2016 Corporate Sponsors and Team Partners Recognized by the Framingham Selectmen

The Team Framingham 2016 Corporate Sponsors and Team Partners are recognized by the Framingham Selectmen at their March 8th meeting.

Board of Selectman Vice Chair Mike Bower introduced the six 2016 Team Framingham corporate sponsors that have stepped forward to support the efforts of the Team Framingham runners in their training for the April 18 Boston Marathon.

Bower then went on to introduce and acknowledge two significant team partners.

The Greater Framingham Running Club (GFRC) was recognized for their long standing partnership with Team Framingham, donating $150 to the team and providing mentors for the Team Framingham Runners.

The Team Framingham training program is being run in cooperation with the GFRC. It has been extremely successful in guiding 46 of 47 team runners to the finish line of the historic and challenging Boston Marathon course during the first two years of the program.

GFRC Vice President Arnie Pollinger was on hand to receive the Certificate of Appreciation for the club.

Durham School Services was recognized for donating the services of one school bus to transport the team runners to the start of the Charity Day long run on the Boston Marathon course on Saturday March 26th.

Durham General Manager Richard Bremilst was on hand to receive the Certificate of Appreciation for Durham, who provides the school bus services for the Framingham Public Schools.

This is the second year Durham will be donating the services of the bus for this final team training run.

Bower stated that “the eight corporate sponsors and team partners deserve to be publicly recognized and thanked for their support of Team Framingham 2016 and the six wonderful charitable organizations the 22 runners are actively fundraising for. LaCantina and Herb Connolly Acura are to be especially commended as they also sponsored the 2015 team.”

Corporate sponsors help to underwrite the expenses in support of the Team Framingham runners:

• Team Framingham t-shirts
• Team Framingham busing for training runs, including Charity day, Saturday March 26
• Water and Gatorade supplies for the Charity Day long run
• Team Framingham busing to the Hopkinton starting line on Marathon Monday April 18

The Team Framingham 2016 runners have been training hard with four team long runs already held. The runners are also working hard to raise funds for six local charities, attempting to surpass the fundraising totals set by the 2014 and 2015 teams which combined to raise more than $113,000.

As of Sunday March 6th, Team Framingham 2016 runners have raised over $23,000.
