Teen Room Is Goal of Library Foundation Fund Raising Effort

The Framingham Public Library Foundation has announced its next fundraising project – a new and expanded Teen Room in the Main Library. To be located on the second floor, the new Teen Room will be designed to meet the needs of teens in grades 6 through 12 for years to come.

Teenagers want a place that they can call their own, with computers, games, graphic novels, books, and Japanese manga materials.

The new Teen Room will be a separate space, dedicated for teens. It will have popular gaming systems, Google Chromebooks, Wi-Fi and comfortable furniture, as well as quiet areas for one-on-one tutoring and study groups. It also will have features to contain noise as well. The Teen Room will be a fun and attractive place for teens, within the safe, supervised environment of the Library.

The fundraising goal is $50,000. As with previous projects, the project will also receive financial support from the City of Framingham.
