These MetroWest Christmas Tree Farms Are Still Open

Last minute Christmas shopping isn't limited to gifts for the kids and family, the Christmas tree can sometimes get bumped to the bottom of the to-do list in the holiday hysteria. Luckily some tree farms in the MetroWest area are still open for the season and you can pick your favorite fir with time to spare.

Higgins Family Christmas Tree 71 Pond St, Ashland, MA 01721: This farm still has about 1,000 trees ready to go. Higgins has been in the community for about 50 years so they know a thing or two about Christmas trees. The farm is open until 9 p.m. everyday except Christmas Eve, they will close at 3 p.m.

Houde's Christmas Trees Farm 169 Berlin Rd, Marlborough, MA 01752: Houde's has plenty of 7 to 9 1/2 foot precut Christmas trees and plenty of wreaths until Christmas Eve. Make you you have cash or checks, this farm does not take credit cards. Hours are 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekends.

Ellsworth Tree Farm 246 School St, Northborough, MA 01532: Ellsworth is a family owned farm where you can design your own wreath. Unfortunately all the 'cut-your-own' trees are sold out but there are still pre-cut firs available. Must pay cash but there is an ATM onsite.

Deer Tree Farm 25 Birch Street, Millis MA 02054: Deer tree is currently taking customers by appointment since it was a busy season. Call 617-803-0493 to schedule an appointment. Cash and check only.

Luks Tree Farm 38 Laurel St, Auburn, MA 01501: A bit further west in Auburn. Hours 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Russell's Garden Center 397 Boston Post Rd, Wayland, MA 01778: Still a limited quantity of trees including fraiser and bolsom trees. Hours: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. everyday except Christmas eve which closes at 5:30 p.m.
