Third Framingham Death Due To Coronavirus

Framingham officials announced the third death Wednesday afternoon along with more positive coronavirus cases.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham announced the third city coronavirus fatality on Wednesday, plus nine additional positive coronavirus cases.

Framingham's total number of confirmed coronavirus cases now stands at 86, although 18 people have recovered from the disease.

The first COVID-19 death in Framingham happened on Thursday involving a man in his 80s with underlying respiratory conditions. Officials are not sharing details about the other people who died, except that they lived in Framingham.

The increase in deaths and overall coronavirus cases come as Massachusetts prepares to face a surge of COVID-19 cases. Gov. Charlie Baker has said that cases may peak in the state beginning on April 7. Federal health officials have said that between 100,000 and 240,000 Americans could die from COVID-19 in the coming weeks.
