TJX Launches Plan To Reopen All Stores In June
Framingham-based TJX closed stores and distribution centers in March as the coronavirus pandemic worsened.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham-based TJX Companies hopes to have all the company's stores reopened by the end of June. The stores and some distribution centers were closed in March due to coronavirus, according to NECN.
TJX, whch owns T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods, has already begun to reopen stores in about two dozen states. The company has reopened about 1,600 of 4,500 stores worldwide, according to NECN.
On March 19, TJX shut down all stores, offices, and distribution centers — and stopped taking orders on tjmaxx.com, marshalls.com, and sierra.com.

On April 8, TJX temporarily furloughed retail and distribution workers. Meanwhile, TJX executives took a 30 percent cut in pay for three months, including CEO Ernie Herrman ($1.6 million), along with Executive Chairman Carol Meyrowitz ($1.04 million).
