ASHLAND, MA – An Uber driver was arrested Friday afternoon after a woman told police he sexually assaulted her on her commute to work in Ashland. The woman told police around 3:30 p.m. she had been picked up by a gray Toyota Corolla and the driver propositioned her during the ride.
The driver, 37-year-old Jose Arevalos-Avalos, of Holliston, offered her $100 for sex and put his hand between her legs when she refused, police said. He later put her hand between his legs, according to police.
Arevalos-Avalos gave the woman his phone number as she left and asked her to call him. The phone number and the license plate on the Uber app led police to Arevalos-Avalos, who was arrested at his apartment shortly before 11 p.m.
