Undefeated Flyers Break 4 League and 3 Team Records in Title Meet

The undefeated Framingham High boys swim team won the Bay State Conference championship meet on Thursday.

The undefeated Framingham High boys swim team captured the Bay State Conference championship meet title on Thursday night.

The Flyers, under head coach Ron Perriera and coach Shawn O’Leary, won the meet with 367 points.

During the meet, the Flyers broke three team records and four league records, said O’Leary.

Junior Matt Peck was a double winner in the 200 freestyle and the 100 freestyle.

In the 100, he tied his own school record and eclipsed the meet record, said O’Leary.

Senior captain Hunter Olson won the 200IM, with a new meet record, said O’Leary.

Freshman Cole Bassett won the 50 freestyle with a new school and meet record.

The Framingham 200 freestyle relay of senior captain Ben Cohen, Guilian Santos, Olson, and Peck had an amazing come from behind victory, said O’Leary.

The Framingham 400 freestyle relay of Bassett, Cohen, Santos, and Peck won with a new meet record of 3:21.82, said O’Leary.

In the 200 medley relay, Flyers Olsen, Eli Gazda, Kevin Silva, and Bassett set the meet and school record with a time of 1:41.41 minutes.

Senior captain Cohen finished in second place in the 200 and 500 freestyle

Gazda placed second in the 100 breaststroke.

Next up for the Flyers is the sectional meet Saturday, Feb. 7 at Boston University at 5:30.

The State meet is Sunday, Feb. 15 at MIT.
